This can was packed with Pen Mar Brand Sugar Corn grown on Mechanicstown area farms. Some may
remember that the field behind the Canning Factory on Altamont Avenue was used to
grow tomatoes and other vegetables used by the cannery. All the produce canned here was grown on local farms and the factory was built adjacent to the Western Maryland
Railway for easy shipment of the finished product.
