This is a detial of the previous image showing a postcard view of a wreck on the Western Maryland printed by Mitchell's Art Gallery, Westminster and Union Bridge. There are several negatives in the W. R. Hicks collection showing this wreck and they are most likeley photos of this and other postcard views by Mitchell's.
The wreck involved two trains, Train No.601 a work extra headed East with Engine No. 601 and Train No. 301 a local freight being pulled by Engine No. 313. They collided 3/4 of a mile West of Westminster on July 13, 1912. In this view you can see a group of people tending to the injured man. A lady wearing a bonnet is seated at his head while another woman fans him with a straw hat, the gentleman is laying on what appears to be a mattress. This postcard view was printed by Mitchell's Art Gallery, Westminster and Union Bridge.
