This is a second Agfachrome slide shot by Bill Zentz at the Western Maryland Train Station in Thurmont. It appears that these people are waiting for one of the fall color excursions up the mountain, these rides were very popular. Some of the people are dressed in heavy coats and the trees on the mountain look like they are changing colors. The train station appears to be open and there are some notices on the windows. This is one of four views taken on the same day and I believe they photo were taken in 1961. Bill was a life long resident of Thurmont and grew up just down Carroll Street from the WMRR Station. I want to thank Candy Zentz for making this image available.
