This is cover of the Thurmont Elementary School Seventh Grade Yearbook from 1940-1941. My thanks to Barb Finistrella and Gloria Feldser for bringing this gem to my attention and letting me share it here. In total there are 68 seperate images each showing one page of the yearbook.

There are many local names you will recognize as well as personal stories, poems, jokes, history, photos and some neat local advertising. It is a safe bet that each of the students graduation that year received a copy of this yearbook and many of the other students listed in other grades may well have gotten a copy as well. That said there may be many copies of this yearbook out there and possibly yearbooks from other years.

Several of the names I recognized were Lev Snurr, James Hobbs, Mary Jo Hobbs, Joe Gelwicks, Esther Mae Hammaker, Rodman Myers, Donald Elower, Eugene Rice, Joe Riffle, Felicia Riffle, John Fink and many others.
