This building at 31 Water Street in Thurmont was part of the Whitmore Cigar Manufacturing operation. When this demolition took place the owner indicted that some part of the building would be rebuilt. The logs were removed from the original log portion of the building on the right and stacked to one side of the property and then just left to rot away. Since then a new and architecturally pleasing brick building with two commercial office suites on the first floor and apartments on the upper floor has been built on this lot.
