This building is located at 16 North Church Street in Thurmont and looks much today as it did when this postcard view was taken around 1909. It was built just after the Civil War by John and Emma Rouzer of the Rouzer Tanneries and is Thurmont's first true apartment building. It originally held three apartments with two seperate stables. Over the years several visiting Lawyers and Dentists kept offices on the first floor. Ernest Hammaker owned this building in the 1950's - 1970's and kept an office on the first floor.
