Here is a picture postcard showing the Bella Vista Motel, the building still stands and is located on Old Emmitsburg Road.  Many large homes took overnight guests in the mid-1900s. Auburn Manor at Catoctin Furnace, Aurora Cottage, and The Pines in Thurmont were three other local homes offering accommodations for travelers.
