This Beck view of the Catoctin Furnace Ironworks appears in many publications. The caption on the image says that iron plate for the Union Monitor was produced here, that claim has never been factually confirmed. The H&FRR tracks run straight past the ironworks and this view predates the electrification of the line in May 1911.
