A real picture postcard image dated 1909 showing the Manor House and the Catoctin Furnace Company Store. The rail car is sitting on what was originally the Monocacy Valley RR, later the WFGRR and finally the H&F RR line. The Monocacy Valley RR was built to carry supplies and finished products between Catoctin Furnace and Thurmont. The line was incorporated in the Washington, Frederick & Gettysburg RR since it was already built and when the Hagerstown & Frederick RR was created the line was again used because it was already in existence. All that remains of the Manor House is portions of the wall and foundations and all other structures shown are completely gone.
