This postcard was sent by Miss Thompson from Auburn to Mr. Hesson, Freight Agent in February 1892. This one is difficult to read but it looks like she is telling Hesson that someone will bring her something when he brings Mr. Loope (?). The use of postcards was the easiest way for people to communicate at the end of the 1800's. Post Office service was very dependable and short of sending someone to deliver a message, postcards were the best form of communication between individuals in towns even as close as Mechanicstown and Catoctin Furnace.
