A photograph from 1916 showing a group of Civil War Veterans in front of the grocery store on North Church Street where the Grand Army of the Republic had an office on the second floor. This building was located in the vacant lot next to the Thurmont Historical Society building. Col. John Rouzer is seen kneeling the second from the left in the front row. Col. Rouzer lived in the home that now serves as the home of the Thurmont Historical Society.
